Closing Thoughts

Creating Quantum Love was more than just a final project for me it was a personal experience, a visual representation of my thoughts, emotions, and the music I’ve poured my heart into. The process allowed me to explore vulnerability in a way I hadn’t before. From the early stages of concept planning to the final export, I was able to turn raw ideas into something that truly felt like me.

Throughout my creative journey from designing a magazine to producing a full music video I’ve developed a wide range of skills that go far beyond the classroom. Each project pushed me in different ways, and together they’ve shaped me into a more confident, capable, and expressive creator.

EDITING PROCESS / finalization

Editing the video on Premiere Pro felt fairly straightforward, mainly because of the amount of practice I had leading up to this project. Over time, I became much more confident navigating the software, which made the workflow smoother and more efficient. One area I’m especially proud of is the colour correction I spent hours watching YouTube tutorials, experimenting with tones, and learning how to create the exact mood I wanted. It wasn’t just about making the footage look good, but about using colour to support the emotion of each scene. That level of control really helped bring the visual story to life.

Below is some some editing corrections :

(Simple color correction to Polaroid scene i wanted the shot to feel cool and less warm.)

(The opposite was done here i tended to use a warmer color palette so that the vhs could capture  the colours properly.)

As for the rest of the video, I chose to stick with the same editing concept I had originally plannedfeaturing lyrics popping up on screen throughout the performance. This decision was intentional, as it allows the audience to really connect with the message of the song on a deeper level. The visual presence of the lyrics not only reinforces the meaning behind the words, but also adds a stylistic element that complements the rhythm and mood of the video. It creates a stronger link between the visuals and the music, making the experience more immersive and impactful.

Making it to the finish line

After countless sleepless nights, I finally gathered enough footage to begin editing properly. It took time, patience, and a lot of trial and error, but I’m now at a stage where the video feels complete. Here's a quick sneak peek at some of the changes I’ve made to the music video

( use of a variety of camera shots )

I plan on tackling the editing tomorrow, but right now, I’m extremely satisfied with the overall feel of my music video. For the first time, I can genuinely say I’m at peace with it. This project feels like a true reflection of me it carries my voice, my style, and my energy. It’s not just a piece of work, it’s my work, and that means everything

FINNALIZED MY DIGGI PACK !!!

Since I decided to rebrand my music video, I chose a different vibe and aesthetic for the digi-pack to match the new direction. Here are the images I selected

Here were the results :

The results turned out way better than I expected. The new visuals really reflect the vibe I was going for clean, bold, and expressive. Each image plays a role in telling the story behind the music, and I feel like the rebrand gave everything a fresh energy. It looks more like an actual product you'd find in stores, which is exactly what I wanted to achieve. I'm proud of how it came together.

pushing through !!!

I finally got a clear idea of what I want my music video to look like. I’ve decided to rebrand the entire concept so that it revolves around me. That means I’ll be taking on Marc’s part, which adds a new layer and a different energy to the video. It also sets it apart, since in most music videos, the artist who performs the verse is the one featured. Additionally, I want to experiment with symmetry to make the visuals more aesthetically pleasing. The original version relied on basic camera shots, which made the video feel dull and below my creative standards

QUANTUAM RE - BRAND

I began to realize that if I truly wanted to complete this assignment, I had to enjoy the process rather than treat it like a chore. So, I decided to incorporate my own aesthetic into the video, drawing from elements like flowers, skateboards, and a touch of narrative to make it feel more personal. I realized that by including pieces of myself in the video, it would feel more raw and authentic. It wouldn’t just be another project it would carry my artistic touch and reflect who I am as a creative.

ROAD BLOCK :(

I realized my music video lacked a true reflection of myself, so I decided to create something that resonates more with my personal style, rather than simply replicating elements from videos that inspired me

Additionally, I noticed that some of the clips I filmed were slightly tilted and not as well-aligned as I had envisioned. However, there’s still hope I plan to incorporate the footage I shot with Marc and Imani towards the end of the music video to bring everything together

Shoot day # 2

Today I had my second shoot for my music video, which featured the female counterpart, Imani. The shoot went really well  I was able to get all the shots I envisioned for the video. We also made great use of the props I created using manila paper, which added a unique touch to the visuals. Below are some behind-the-scenes (BTS) videos and photos from the shoot :

OVERALL THOUGHTS ON THE SHOOT

Overall, today’s shoot was amazing. There were minimal distractions, and Imani followed direction really well, making the process smooth. Most of the shots I captured were handheld, which unfortunately resulted in some shaky footage  this might be a challenge during editing. However, I’m still really satisfied with the visuals I got.

I was especially happy with how well the props fit into the music video. Not only is my creativity blooming through this project, but I’ve also noticed my growing attention to specific details. I’ve been able to come up with ideas on the spot  a valuable skill for any producer. One example was the last minute idea to shoot the polaroid in the water, which turned out to be a standout moment in the video
